On April 9, 2023, Messe Augsburg celebrates its 35^th anniversary on the occasion of the opening of the trade fair grounds. With an investment of around 30 million marks and a construction period of less than a year, the Schwabenhalle and five other lightweight halls were completed as planned, right on time for the ceremony. The baptism of fire followed immediately: in the so-called "opening week", more than 50,000 visitors came to the exhibition center - 30,000 of them at the Open Day on April 9 alone, and others then to concerts by Ute Lemper and the Ersten Allgemeine Verunsicherung, among others - and made the opening a complete success. Incidentally, the trade fair company itself is celebrating its 37^th birthday this year: it was entered in the commercial register back in June 1986.
