On Whitsun weekend, Sudeten Germans from near and far will come together in the Fugger city of Augsburg. Once again this year, you can expect lectures, presentations, dialect readings, film screenings, book presentations, musical performances and discussions at the Augsburg Exhibition Center.

The festive cultural award ceremony on Friday evening in the Golden Hall of Augsburg City Hall, the presentation of the European Charlemagne Prize on Saturday morning and the HEIMAT! evening on Saturday evening as well as the Pontifical Mass on Pentecost Sunday are once again among the fixed program items. A highlight of this year's event will once again be the main rally on Whit Sunday with speeches by the spokesman of the Sudeten German ethnic group and the Bavarian Minister President as well as an international message of greeting. You should also not miss our Bohemian Village Festival, where you can experience the Sudeten German cultural heritage through music, dance and culinary delights.

For younger people in particular, the Sudeten German Day is a unique opportunity to get in touch with the generation that experienced Sudeten Germany - those who were born in Bohemia, Moravia and Sudeten Silesia before the expulsion. Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren have questions about their family history and the homeland of their ancestors. The Sudeten German Day provides answers. Therefore: Come to Augsburg and exchange ideas with fellow countrymen! Translated with DeepL.com (free version)
