Electric vehicles produce no exhaust emissions while driving and are often quieter than vehicles with internal combustion engines, especially at low speeds. Compared to similar passenger cars, they can offer a climate benefit over their entire life cycle. The extent of this benefit depends, among other things, on the vehicle’s manufacturing process, the charging current, and its service life.
