Messe Augsburg will be the center for all those involved in the upgrading and management of vacation homes and apartments from November 10-12, 2023. Vacation properties are more popular than ever in Germany and particularly in Bavaria. For the first time in southern Germany, the new trade fair SuperStay LIVE now offers a unique platform for professionals, investors, architects and participants who are active or would like to be active in the vacation real estate sector. Messe Augsburg and its partner, AppMe GmbH, are organizing this event to meet the growing needs and challenges of the industry.
SuperStay LIVE promises to be an innovative event in the vacation property sector, as it provides a unique opportunity to learn about the latest developments and trends in this emerging market. Private and professional property owners will have the opportunity to exchange ideas with experts from the tourism industry. Up to 70 companies attending the trade fair will showcase their innovative technologies and provide valuable insights into the requirements and expectations of modern travelers. Visitors can look forward to an extensive program of presentations with top speakers and, last but not least, participants can take advantage of the networking lounge.
Industry players will discuss topics such as industry growth, short-term rentals, marketing and social media in a series of presentations and workshops. The speakers include representatives from booking.com, the coaches for vacation property hosts Annik Rauh and Caroline Petersen and the expert for niche portals, Björn Menzel.
SuperStay LIVE will also showcase numerous highlights from the exhibitors. Segmüller is not the only exhibitor in the furnishings and furniture sector who will be presenting a wide range of furniture and furnishing ideas for vacation properties. Nolte Küchen, the kitchen specialist, will be attending along with Voglauer, the natural wood furniture company and Jan Kurtz with luxurious designer garden furniture. In terms of booking portals, OBS OnlineBookingService, a leading company from Bavaria, will be joining Booking.com and Home2Go. We are also delighted to welcome a guest from our very own Augsburg: BnB Pro Hosting, based in Augsburg, is represented in the area of Airbnb arbitrage, i.e. the subletting of properties to holiday guests.
SuperStay LIVE comes at a time when data from the Federal Statistical Office and Statista, among others, reveals a dynamic market in private vacation properties in Germany, which totals approx. 1.26 million properties. The number of commercial overnight stays in vacation apartments and houses alone is over 42 million, and the precise number of private overnight stays is not recorded, but is merely based on estimates which vary to up to 200 million overnight stays per year. By 2019, commercial offers of overnight stays in holiday properties had increased by 36% from 2010, and have risen by an additional 1.7% since then, while offers have fallen in other sectors such as hotels. This demonstrates that the sector was already experiencing great demand prior to Covid-19, and the pandemic gave it a further boost.
