The OFF-GRID Expo + Conference (OEC) 2025 in Augsburg sets standards: as the only neutral trade fair and conference in Europe for off-grid energy supply technologies, it is a unique industry gathering that brings together international innovations, top-class experts and solutions that contribute to achieving the UN sustainability goals. From October 30 to 31, 2025 the OEC will once again offer a global meeting point for experts and decision-makers and thus establish Augsburg as an important meeting point for the off-grid community and, for the first time, under the patronage of Thorsten Glauber, Bavarian State Minister for the Environment and Consumer Protection.

Events such as the OFF-GRID Expo + Conference are important platforms that bring together suppliers and consumers of innovative solutions for successful climate protection and the energy transition. As Minister for the Environment, Thorsten Glauber is the perfect choice as patron to support this trailblazing event. Under his leadership, the Bavarian State Ministry for the Environment and Consumer Protection is pursuing ambitious targets in the areas of climate protection, resource conservation and environmental protection, which are all key issues for the OEC. Minister of State Glauber will also uses his patronage to emphasize the overarching goal of driving forward the global energy transition with a focus on sustainable technologies.
Kenya will be the guest country at the OEC in 2025, in close cooperation with the Bavarian Africa Strategy. Kenya is considered a pioneer in renewable energies and off-grid solutions on the African continent. The OEC 2025 will welcome a Kenyan delegation along with many other international delegations. This will strengthen mutual exchange and cooperation and further expand economic and technological cooperation with Africa.
Approximately 70 companies from all over the world will present their latest technologies and solutions for a self-sufficient energy supply at OEC 2025. The international conference participants and trade fair visitors will gain insights into groundbreaking technologies from energy generation, energy storage and distribution to innovative utilization concepts. The program is supplemented by cross-sectional topics such as recycling, project planning and innovative financing models.
The interdisciplinary conference program is being developed in cooperation with the Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE) and other renowned partners including the German-African Business Association, German Water Partnership and the Reiner Lemoine Institute. Numerous experts attending the event will ensure that OEC 2025 focuses on the latest and most sustainable solutions in the off-grid sector.
OFF-GRID Expo + Conference 2025 will make a direct contribution to the achievement of several UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The focus is on affordable and clean energy (SDG 7) and access to clean water and sanitation (SDG 6). However, decent work and economic growth (SDG 8), responsible consumption and production (SDG 12) and climate action (SDG 13) are also key topics on the agenda. The OEC 2025 has a practice-oriented format that not only promotes the transfer of knowledge, but also enables the networking of players from various areas of the self-sufficient energy supply industry.
